At a time where the whole world is experiencing an unusual pandemic that has also greatly affected people’s lives negatively, it is imperative for everyone to embark and maintain a healthy lifestyle as a means of body survival. This article will give brief yet instrumental ways in which one can maintain a healthy lifestyle while working from home.

Having meals rich in a balanced diet

A balanced diet can efficiently help in boosting the body’s immunity thus making it suitable enough to fight off the virus in case one contracts it.  A balanced diet is meal rich in all food nutrients such as proteins, fibers, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals and others. However, further emphasizing on the intake of fruits would increase the body’s vitamins base which are also key in fighting off diseases. In terms of vitamins, select fresh, whole fruits which can be naturally sustained for a longer period such as that is naturally longer lasting such as apples, pineapple, oranges and lemons. Consider consuming vegetables such as carrots, garlic, ginger and turnips as natural body detoxifiers to have a body free from possible toxins. Constantly drinking water on a timely basis would also help in keeping the body hydrated while also minimaxing unnecessary sugar intake.

Physical body exercise

The pandemic has called for the closure of most businesses including gyms, which has also led to most employees considering working remotely. With this, physical exercise is most likely to be challenge. However, even with a confined space at home, one can do simple physical exercises to keep the body active, fresh and to prevent excess weight again.  Above all, the World Health Organization recommends 150 minutes of moderate-intensity or 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity physical activity per week, or a combination of both as a measure of maintaining an active body and mental state.  Examples of simple body drills that can be practiced as home include; Knee to Elbow stretching, Yoga, planks, squats, side knee lifts, chair dips, chest openers and many others.

Having enough body rest/sleep

In this period, it is necessary to have enough sleep since sleep deprivation weakens the body’s defence system and therefore making the body susceptible to contracting the virus itself. According to medical recommendations, the body needs 8 hours of sleep per day in order for it to function fully.  Having enough sleep   helps in regulating moods, improving brain function, and increasing energy which also contributes to one’s overall productivity especially during the day. Therefore, the more rest/sleep one has the better the level of productivity.

Without self-discipline and dedication in actualizing all these measures, there is no way one can achieve living a healthy lifestyle especially in this period. Firstly, you aught to understand why these measures are important, how you can achieve them effectively and with this, attaining a healthy wellbeing can be guaranteed.
